Increasing numbers of people of all religious, ideological and political persuasions join the growing consensus that the hectic, high-consumption mode of modern societies cannot continue. We need, and, in fact, are headed for a major change. Join us at the lovely Westwind on the Oregon Coast to experience this extraordinary presentation looking at the interconnection between three of humanity's most critical concerns: environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Gain fresh, energizing insights into these complex issues through lecture, video clips and group interaction, and hear from some of the most respected leaders of our time, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Thomas Berry, Van Jones and others. Learn about the hopeful, global movement for change which is not highlighted in the media. Have an opportunity to 'be the change', re-committing youreslf to active engagement in co-creating the world we want. This presentation is better known as Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream, developed by the Pachamama Alliance. The symposium trailer may be viewed online. It is brought to the Pacific Northwest by a partnership between Pachamama and The Heritage Institute. Among those presenting this program will be Heritage Institute Director Mike Seymour, Awakening the Dreamer facilitator Linda Secord, renowned author and artist Elizabeth Murray and climate solutions expert Duncan Berry. During this work we will be nourished by sustainably grown foods from the land and sea prepared by chef Melany Berry. $180 for the conference fee, room, board and the event. NOTE: Substantial work/exchange scholarships are available for high school and college students.
