ISL - IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING

 In-Service Workshops & Credit

Improving Student Learning

 

In addition to offering workshops and distance courses for educators The Heritage Institute provides university credit for in-services, customized courses for schools and districts and presenters for school in-services.

 

Improving Student Learning (ISL) is a school/district based program that makes it easy for administrators or professional development staff to prepare a course for Antioch University quarter credit.   We are able to offer credit at an affordable rate of $40/quarter credit.

To Get Started:

  • Download and complete the ISL Syllabus Form, filling in your school or district name under the title *IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING.
  • Select an administrator or staff member to be instructor of record.
  • A  sample completed ISL syllabus is available for downloading Sample ISL Syllabus.
  • Email your completed form to Yvonne Hall (registrar [at] hol.edu), The Heritage Institute Registrar, at least 1 month prior to your first session.
  • Allow ten (10) working days for approval.Two weeks before your first session, you’ll receive a packet of materials to register teachers.
  • Tuition: $40/credit for both 400 level  (Upper Division) and 500 level (Post Baccalaureate)

Custom Distance Courses may be requested to meet the specific curricular needs of a school or district. We draw on the broad experience of our sizable adjunct faculty, the majority of whom have years of K-12 experience. Contact our President, Mike Seymour (mike [at] hol.edu) for more information.
