This Course is ONLY available to participants registered in the Renewing Ourselves & Our Teaching Retreat.
This online course for participants at the Renewing Ourselves & Our Teaching event will continue our retreat work using videos and reading from noted educator Parker Palmer (The Courage to Teach). You’ll continue your choice of meditation and learn how to use mindfulness with your students. We'll underscore the importance of physical, emotional, and mental health of de-stressing, and provide some great techniques for stress reduction. Inspiring teachers like Jean Houston, Marianne Williamson, and Elizabeth Gilberts encourage us to stretch and become the bigger person we have the potential to be. We'll hear Brene Brown's TED talk on the power of vulnerability, and consider how the courage to be open is the path to insight and transformation. Benedictine monk Br. David Steindal-Rast will gift us with his work on gratefulness. Outside reading will be of your choice or from the bibliography.
