Explore what you’re passionate about in education in the context of the pressing global challenges we face. Take time to discuss exciting activities and approaches in your teaching to foster reverence, respect and responsibility as well as creative problem solving for a better world. In the process, we’ll examine how to shape the agenda of schooling today to your own purposes so that you have more tools to help your students become engaged citizens and conscientious choicemakers. This workshop is best for middle and high school teachers. The class fee ($75) includes two texts, a vegetarian/vegan lunch and your choice of six Washington State clock hours or Oregon PDU's or .6 CEU's. Credit registrants pay an additional $40 and will receive a syllabus requiring reading and outside written assignments. Presenters: Mike Seymour is President of The Heritage Institute, author of Educating for Humanity: Rethinking the Purposes of Education, and founder of a non-profit, Youth for a New World.
