PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT: Making It Happen

Increasing our assessment options and promoting student reflection are two of the reasons why educators are using portfolios. Appropriate for the beginner or those with limited portfolio experience, this course will explore the many strategies and issues associated with effective portfolio use. We will cover: what a portfolio is, how to use and maintain them, how they can be assessed, and how to communicate to students and parents about them. You will design a portfolio, a portfolio review instrument, and a student-led parent conference using portfolios. $27 text fee payable to the instructor after registration.
