Course No. ED449G, ED549G
While many books have examined the ways in which food impacts our physical health, The Happiness Diet, is the first one to clearly show a possible link between how we eat and how we feel. What if you discovered that the best place to find happiness was at the end of your fork? What if you discovered that as your waistline expands, your brain declines? What if you learned that mood foods in this plan include bacon, beef and eggs, foods you have been avoiding? Wouldn't you want to sign up today and explore the new research? Emerging data from the rapidly changing fields of neuroscience and nutrition show "that by changing what you eat, you can improve your mental and emotional well-being; you can even make your brain grow."
During this course of study you will learn how the foods you eat can keep you well. You will also learn more about how small changes have stripped the American diet of nutrients. This course is appropriate for all K-12 teachers, coaches, and parents. Your transformation will start on day one with practical advice, recipes, and feel good foods. Join me for this journey. You will spread your happiness to others. Appropriate for all educators.

The course Happiness Diet is an exceptional class. Brenda is a wonderful teacher and has designed an outstanding class. I would recommend this class at the highest level. Thanks for offering this class.
Great Class, being in Education one hopes that the Professional Development they take will inspire and improve their craft as an educator. This course "Happiness Diet" did that and more. This class was life changing. The two biggest take aways: One, getting away from processed foods, and the many reasons why one should, and how food effects our thinking, moods, and overall health. Two, How exercising with our student's is the best way to start the day to grow brain cells, engaging the frontal lobe in our brains for optimal cognitive learning.
I've taken many college classes in my lifetime and this instructor was one the BEST I have ever had. She was prompt in grading our assignments and gave helpful & practical feedback on all assignments. She was kind and compassionate as well. I would love to take more courses from her.

This is one of the most useful, provocative, and inspirational professional development classes i have ever taken. My instructor, Brenda designed this course with many resources to allow for further study in this area, and a solid base for understanding the influence of nutrition on maintaining brain/ body health. Brenda was brilliant, wise, fun, and maintained a personal connection through valuable feedback. This course felt personally relevant as well as contributing to curriculum materials with which I hope to inspire my own students. She is fantastic!
Wonderful Professor with excellent comments, questions, and teachings. I LOVED this course and learned so much. It has been life-changing!
Thank you. It was an excellent class with a great instructor.
I was apprehensive about taking a course on line based on others experiences through other universities. This was fantastic! The whole process from sign up to finish was clear. The class, The Happiness Diet, surpassed my expectations. The book, videos and assignments linked up and were extremely informative, interesting, and applicable. The instructor was FAST to respond to assignments and my side questions/concerns. I feel fortunate that I needed a few credits, and friend nudged me to Heritage and to just do it. It felt wonderful to enjoy a class from start to finish.
Ms. McKinney is a dedicated and thoughtful teacher. She provided insight and feedback all along the way. The course was well designed, and I feel like I improved as a person for taking it. I would highly recommend this instructor and course to anyone!
